Inspired by the world famous Patriot saint Swami Vivekananda and his Ramkrishna mission's twin mottos
"Atmano Mokshartha, Jagat Hitaya cha", (i.e. For the salvation of one's own and for the welfare of the world), a couple of Mrs Pallavi Shah & Dr Kamlesh Shah decided at the time of their marriage in 1982 to devote their lives for the welfare of the people. They started doing various small but meaningful activities in their spare time.
Guided by the monks of Ramkrishna Mission namely Swami Adibhavanadji Maharaj and Swami Nikhileshwaranadji Maharaj, the first informal project was launched in Feb.2000 at the slum area of Rajodpura in Anand-Gujarat under the name of VIVEK CLUB where school going children especially of slum areas are nurtured and imbibed with good moral character. They are imparted Value added education of Man Making & Character Building nature. The club is providing a platform to the students to practically learn what they do not learn at their school, but they have to learn to live a day to day life successfully and thereby to be Patriotic Citizens of Mother India. They are provided nutritious snack weekly and study related materials on their day to day requirements.
Experience of working with these slum children lead them to a comprehensive planning of implementing Swami Vivekanandji's ideas of service and Patriotism and came into existence a formal Non-Government Organization (N.G.O) "PATRIOT GUJARAT A GLOBAL GLOBAL PRIDE - (P.G.G.P)" which was registered in 2004 at Anand under the society Registration Act 1836 and Mumbai Public Trust Act 1950. Patriot Gujarat A Global Pride is established with an aim to promote the Patriotic Values in the society and to revive the glory of our country and thereby to lead India to lead the world.
The word Patriot When prefixed to Gujarat gives a wider meaning and clear message about the vision of the organization that Gujarat is not narrow minded. There is no scope of narrow feelings of regionalism but a concern of the state for the whole nation (Patriot Gujarat) dreams to be the pride of the world ( A Global Pride).
Thus the name of organization in itself is its Mission Statement i.e. patriot Gujarat a Global Pride. Attracted by the fragrance of their pious activities in 2007 a pure hearted and generous gentleman Shri BABUBHAI M. CHAVDA came forward and offered his patronage by providing his Land with hall at Kailash Farm & Nursery, nr.Ganesh circle - Anand for carrying out various activities of the organization.
Side by Side to spread the Legal awareness among the people "INSTITUTE FOR LEGAL AID, AWARENESS & SOCIAL JUSTICE - ઈલાજ" was established in 2007 by the organization.
A Children library with 1500 books was established in 2009 to meet the hunger of the children for gaining the knowledge in varying aspect of life.
An another centre of "VIVEK CLUB" was established at LOTESHWAR TEMPLE - ANAND in 2010.
Number of slum children benefitted by both the centres were incessantly increasing by leaps and bounds. Routine and special activities like De-addiction camps, Educational and sports competitions, Festival celebration, Health check-up camp, Inspiring Lectures by dignitaries were intensified both quantitatively and qualitatively.
The activities of "VIVEK CLUB" drew the attention of the youth and they voluntarily started helping the children. Along with helping the children of the vivek club, youth arranged themselves a "YUVA VIVEK WALK" on 12th jan.2011 from Anand to Vidyanagar under the banner of "Patriot Gujarat A Global Pride". More than 400 college students and more than 100 enlightened citizens of the twin cities Anand & Vidyanagar participated in Walk to meaningfully celebrate the national youth day - Swami Vivekananda's Birthday.
Encouraged by the overwhelming response of the youth in the Yuva Vivek Walk the organization decided to launch a separate organization namely "PATRIOT CLUB OF INDIA" for them to channelize their energy in a proper way under the name of an unique youth organization working on the Principle of FOR THE YOUTH, OF THE YOUTH, BY THE YOUTH...
"PATRIOT CLUB OF INDIA" was formally established on 26th Jan. 2011 at Anand. Patriot Club Of India has given strength and momentum to the children welfare activities of the VIVEK CLUB on one hand and has benefited to youth themselves on other hand on the basis (principle) of SYMBIOSIS.
